Description
Superb seedlings with great leaves, mini bulbs and extensive roots. Very ready for deflask. Flowers of pod parent are reddish maroon with extremely full segments. Pollen parent reddish brown with great shape too. These should be good. I deflask and over-pot into lightly packed sphagnum moss usually as a community pot and fertilise immediately with dilute soluble fertiliser. They are kept moist to wet at all times and are stood in about 3-3 cm of water during summer and hotter periods. I treat them kindly for about a fortnight – a bit longer in summer and get them out under 75% shade cloth ASAP. After a year, they are potted up singly into gently packed sphagnum moss. Some have flowered in as little as about 18 months from deflask. The pod parent is particularly vigorous and robust.
